Socialist Agenda

The United Socialist States of America.  Are we marching towards Socialism? Wait, WHAT is Socialism? Can you measure it? Is it good or bad?  Did Capitalism fail? Is there a balance? Is becoming a Socialist Nation a slippery slope to communism?

Well, the answers to these questions and many more are VERY difficult to answer because there are many answers and most are unfortunately dependent on your point of view. All I can do is provide you with information and give you some of my Viewpoints and you decide what direction our society should take.
It is in my FIRM belief that, If we (or You)  really want to be a Socialist Nation then WE NEED to have a conversation ABOUT Socialism and NOT hide behind the Democratic and Republican Parties.  Has anyone asked you if you want to be a Socialist.  I have not seen anyone except Frank Llewellyn talking about Socialism  www.dsausa.org - Head of  DSA, Largest Socialist Organization in the US, Visit his site so you can get a non gloom and doom viewpoint of Socialism.

Hear are a few definition articles:

Socialism in America (a great article describing some history, maybe we need to take notes).

So here we go:
Are we a Socialist Society? Well, maybe not yet.   Are we heading to a Socialist Society, absolutely.  Well, crazy Will, how can you make such a statement?
I use many different events that have recently happened and at quite a fast pace too! The GDP, the passing of legislature that aids in the growth of unions, the current  push for  Bank Nationalization, and Government ownership and control of large enterprises such as Car Industry, Universal Health care.  Legislation used to spread the wealth, attacks on reducing our Bill of Rights such as HR-45, or by increasing the taxes and fees to make Guns affordable..

The GDP:
"Numbers show the U.S. is drifting ever closer to the socialist systems popular within the European Union. In 1999, government spending made up 34.3 percent of gross domestic product, or GDP, the broadest barometer used to measure the health of the economy. That number is projected to grow to nearly 40 percent by next year.  Government spending within the majority of European Union nations averages 47.1 percent of the GDP, meaning the U.S. is roughly seven points behind -- closer than ever before."   -Policies to Socialism

GE is in the back pocket of the government. GE owns NBC - a popular national station promoting liberal causes, CNBC - one of the most watched stations for financial news and MSNBC - another station that heavily promotes liberal causes - rather than just reporting the “news”. America's for the Constitution

If you get time to read ALL the linked articles in this section it might help, hopefully you can have some of your questions answered.   I attempted to give you BOTH viewpoints to educate you.   I have given just a VERY small drop in the bucket supporting the March towards socialism.

Listen to some warnings about Socialism:
Ezra's Taft Benson's Warning about Socialism  (This audio speech is quite powerful to me).
How California fails So will the US.,What we can learn with the fall of the 8th largest economy of the world, yes California. We are mirroring MANY policies CA has already instituted.

Now, I am not and NEVER will I be a Socialist, I am a Fiscal conservative and abide by many Libertarian viewpoints (please visit their site- Libertarian Party , limiting or eliminating of Government involvement in business affairs. Yes, I understand the requirement of government for police to protect us from those that violate our  freedoms (visit the LP site for more detail).

Here are a few viewpoints I need to make:
1. TYPICALLY Government agencies are ineffieciently run compared to private organizations
2. MOST Unions are VERY Bad for workers.
3. Businesses MUST be allowed to fail no matter what the consequences.  GM receieved BILLIONS, THREE times and still they are laying off 10,000 Jobs. Let the free market prevail.
4. Government ownership of banks, needs to stop NOW.
5.  This frivolus spending needs to stop NOW (but is too late now),
6. I can talk and maybe even accept Stimulus but NOT Spending it on Pork.
7...More to come. I need to sleep.

One note
Today, the US is a great place because there are so many state laws vary and you can CHOOSE where you live and under what laws you prefer.  I can be glad to say I am glad to be away from AL, NY and PA. Here's what I mean...
NY laws vs AL laws
A Tale of Two Giants:

Several months ago, a NY Giant, Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg by accident in a nightclub, he now faces jail time (5 years)  because of carrying an unregistered weapon and made a target by the Mayor to do the time.
A little time goes by and WR, Taye Biddle is in line for obtaining Burress's position on the Giants... One day in AL (supposedly inadvertantly), Biddle was shot (by someone else)  in the hand and leg but no charges were filed.
So in NY you can shot yourself and goto jail...in AL you get shot no one goes to jail.
Yes, Burress's gun was illegally in Burress's possession ...so have him pay a heavy fine. No one else was infringed upon.
As for getting shot in AL,  that's what you get for living there...haha I lived there too and got the hell out.
